The Bergman Group, founded in 1995 by Bill Bergman, is a diversified communications company located in Richmond, Virginia. Our original mission was to supply Richmond institutions with best practices in marketing and advertising, envisioning that a small advertising agency could make national advertising talent affordable for local clients with limited budgets. At the same time, after spending years developing national advertising campaigns for products like fast food, liquor, soup and appliances, the Bergman Group’s founder was determined to apply his company’s talents to more meaningful services and products that improve people’s lives.
Over the past decade, the agency has grown substantially, with clients in a wide range of businesses, including conservation, education, advocacy, healthcare, economic development, publishing, personal services, philanthropic consulting, travel and entertainment, public affairs, financial services, real estate development and insurance. While our business model was originally focused only on Richmond, our success has led to assignments with numerous national clients.
Our people are from diverse backgrounds and perform multiple tasks that frequently cross formal departmental lines. This is one way in which the Bergman Group differs from the traditional agency: We believe that any member of our team can provide valuable input into any of our projects.
